Family Vacation

June 21

It was a dark and rainy night... and all the children were tucked in bed.  Sounds like the beginning of a great story.

We were away for a week on a family vacation to one of our favorite cities: Ottawa.  Our nation's beautiful capital.  We had a wonderful time and the weather was incredibly warm.

We had some specific events planned and we were looking forward to doing them but found that time and time again the door would be closed.  On the upside however, as these doors were closed a new door would quickly open.

I really looked forward to one of our regular hangouts and that was the Museum of Civilization.  I've been to a lot of museums in my day and to just about every museum across Canada.  For me, the Museum of Civilization was the best ever.  I always loved going there.  We arrived and discovered that the entire 3rd floor {my favorite} was closed and gone.  What?  Seriously?  So we moved onto the children's portion and squeezed past 3 large school groups.
Crazy loud and definitely not what I had in mind for a good time. About 10 minutes into that section and the power went out.  Gah! Our kids were in the pyramid and had to be escorted out because it was dark and unsafe.  Just a series of unfortunate events I guess.

We had tickets to the Imax so decided to wait a little to see if things would change.  As time passed my patience was wearing thin.  I decided it was time to ask for a full refund.  They kept offering tickets for another day but I just wanted a full refund given the circumstances.

Meet 4 day old Thor.  Remarkably cute with his milk chin.

Talk about perfect timing!  We arrived at the cow barn and Dave {employee} was filling the milk bottles so he could feed this handsome dude.  He asked the girls if they wanted to bottle feed. They stepped right up.
